Narcolepsy Type 1
Clinical Research Study

Light the Way
for Narcolepsy Research

It’s time to shine a new light on narcolepsy. By participating in research for narcolepsy type 1 (NT1), you can help researchers better understand the condition and ignite change.

Let’s Awaken More Options for Idiopathic Hypersomnia and Narcolepsy Type 2

You may be able to participate in the NURA Study if you:

Are 18–70 years of age
Have a diagnosis of NT1
Experience at least 4 episodes of cataplexy per week (based on a 14-day weekly average)
Cataplexy refers to sudden, brief episodes of muscle weakness that are typically triggered by strong emotions, such as laughter or surprise

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor and team will review additional study criteria with you.

If you qualify and choose to participate, you will receive all study-related care at no cost. Participant travel and other reasonable expenses may be covered or reimbursed to support study participation. The study team can provide more information about what expenses may be covered or reimbursed.

About the NURA Study

The NURA Study is evaluating the safety and effectiveness of an investigational study drug that is being studied for NT1, also called narcolepsy with cataplexy.

What to Expect:
  • You will be assigned to 1 part of this study. Participants are not able to select a specific study part.
  • Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the investigational study drug or a placebo.
Study Duration:
  • The study treatment period lasts up to 6 weeks, and the total study duration may last up to 16 weeks (screening, study treatment period, and follow-up period).
  • Participants may have up to 8 visits, and some visits may include an overnight stay.

You can play a role in helping researchers find more ways to study and treat NT1 by participating in this clinical research study.

Your Participation Matters

Research has shown that certain diseases and drugs may affect people differently based on several factors, including age, sex assigned at birth, race, and ethnic background. For this reason, it is important that people from all backgrounds be involved in medical research. This can help to ensure that potential new drugs are safe and work well for all people impacted by the disease being studied.
